Yongsan Station

Yongsan Station is a rail and transfer hub in Dongja-dong, Yongsan-gu, where Line 1, Gyeongui-Jungang, and KTX Yongsan meet. Long-distance and regional commute, shopping, and access to Itaewon and Hannam concentrate here.

History & background

It opened with Line 1 in 1974; KTX Yongsan in 2004 added long-distance rail. Gyeongui-Jungang was added in 2014. Connected to IPark Mall and Yongsan Park, foot traffic is high.

Why it's famous

KTX, Line 1, Gyeongui-Jungang, and IPark Mall and Yongsan Park converge; commute, shopping, and outing traffic overlap. Real-time population is high on weekend shopping and park hours.
