Deoksugung·Jeongdong-gil
Deoksugung-gil and Jeongdong-gil are historic streets west of Deoksugung in Jeong-dong, Jung-gu, with the palace wall, Jeongdong Theater, former Russian Legation, and Seoul City Hall. Walking, tourism, and cafe traffic are heavy.
History & background
Diplomatic and modern architecture took root in the late Joseon and Korean Empire periods; from the 1990s pedestrianization and cafes and galleries made it a tourism and culture space.
Why it's famous
Deoksugung wall, trees, and modern architecture draw photo and cafe visitors. Real-time population is high on weekends and in spring and autumn.

Subway Lines 1·2 City Hall, Line 5 Gwanghwamun. City bus to Jeong-dong and Deoksugung. Walking to Deoksugung, Gwanghwamun Square, Seoul City Hall.
